Helpful Hints

Once you’ve got the terminology down, you’ll find that uploading with the Lightroom Plugin works wonders for your workflow. Here’s a cheat sheet for remembering what they mean:

1. “Published Collection Set” = “Gallery” or “Album”
2. “Published Collection” = “Photos” in an Gallery or Album
3. “Publish”  = “Upload Photos” and “Create Galleries / Albums”

Anyone have any brilliant ideas for organizing the album lists in LR? Would love to have folders organized by year instead of all my galleries, ever, in alphabetical orientation.

It would also be awesome to be able to archive galleries from within LR.

    Thanks!

Correction to my previous comment: it appears that it doesn’t treat a published collection as a folder at all. So I guess treating existing folders as collection sets makes sense, but it’s kind of counter-intuitive that you have to make a sub-folder in Lightroom that doesn’t show up as anything on ShootProof.

So glad you moved over to a publish service instead of just an export plug-in. A big step in the right direction. One minor bug to report: previously created albums from ShootProof show up in Lightroom by default as collection sets instead of collections. Thus you can’t add new photos to an existing album without creating a collection that is either alongside or is a sub-album of the original. Thanks for working hard to keep making ShootProof better and easier to use.
